Jim Downs articled in Vancouver and joined a mid sized Vancouver law firm as an associate solicitor in 1986. Jim left that firm when an opportunity arose to become corporate counsel for the Jim Pattison Group in 1988.
In 1993, a desire to raise his family in a small town environment led to a move to Salmon Arm, where Jim joined the firm. He practices business law primarily, dealing with a wide range of corporate, commercial, sales and acquisitions, financing, real estate, leasing, contractual and other business matters.
His prior work experience gives him a good appreciation of business issues and he understands the challenges faced by both large and small businesses.
