Brooke Jackson Downs LLP was originally established in Salmon Arm in 1980 under the name Robertson Brooke. It has grown over the years to be the largest law firm in Salmon Arm. Of course, one of the reasons that we all live and work here is that "large" in Salmon Arm means big enough to respond to all of the needs of our clients efficiently, while still remaining easy to reach.

Gary Brooke
Gary was born and raised in Salmon Arm, as were three generations of the Brooke family before him. He was one of the founders of the Firm and was a key contributor to the Firm's growth and success. Gary had a busy solicitor’s practice with a large and loyal client base until his retirement in 2012.

Robin Jackson
The late Robin Jackson was also instrumental in building the Firm's reputation for practical legal advice, personal attention to clients and positive results. Robin  was a successful litigator, a strong advocate for his clients, and was highly regarded for his skills in the courtroom.

Jim Downs joined the firm in 1993. Prior to coming to Salmon Arm, Jim was corporate counsel for the Jim Pattison Group and an associate at the Vancouver law firm Owen Bird. Jim has added his strong skills as a corporate commercial lawyer and the Firm's corporate client base has grown tremendously during the time that Jim has been a partner.

Kathryn Vennard is the newest partner and she also has strong local roots, having grown up and attended school here in Salmon Arm. She is very involved in the community and brings her caring attitude about community and clients to her practice, which combines a mix of wills, estates, corporate and real estate work.

Elizabeth Sadorsky and Nathan Wahoski are associate lawyers at the Firm. Elizabeth joined the Firm in 2003, after practicing in both Kamloops and 100 Mile House. Her practice is focused on real estate, subdivision and development related matters. Nathan also grew up and went to school here in Salmon Arm. He joined the Firm in 2011, after practicing in Victoria. Nathan's practice is primarily litigation based, including personal injury, family/divorce, employment, construction, insurance, disability, commercial and criminal matters.
